PROGRAM

THE 3RD ANNUAL SUMMER LEADERSHIP FORUM (SLF)

PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA

August 3 – 5, 2011

Schools districts currently administer Title I programs based on an outdated law that has been further explained by thousands of pages of guidance, regulations, and policies. The United States Department of Education and Inspector Generals’ Office continue to emphasize Title I compliance monitoring and audit exceptions continue. We need to prevent these exceptions.

The Pennsylvania Association of Federal Program Coordinators (PAFPC),

Division of Federal Programs (DFP), PA Department of Education, in partnership with the Law Firm of Brustein and Manasevit present the 3rd Annual Summer Leadership Forum on Program and Fiscal Compliance, August 3 -5, 2011 at the Sheraton Station Square, Pittsburgh, Pa.

The purpose of the SLF is to provide staff development on the fundamental principles that district coordinators and fiscal staff need to know to prevent audit exceptions and to comply with the law.

This forum will prepare Title I administrators, business and fiscal staff, accountants, and single auditors in the areas of allowable costs; time and effort documentation for federally paid employees; fiscal requirements under MOE, supplement not supplant and comparability; equitable services; and consolidating funds in schoolwide programs.

Register early. Participation is limited because the Summer Leadership Forum's format encourages interaction between presenters and participants. Interaction fosters clear responses to every question. Registrants are also encouraged to submit topics or questions to Jim Sheffer, Executive Director, PAFPC, at JMSheffer@aol.com for inclusion in the program.

Looking forward to working with you!

Jim M. Sheffer

Registration will open May 2011 at www.pafpc.org
